FOR TEACHERS AND PARENTS · SANTA PEACEFLIGHT

Your class and the Santa Peaceflight

Five minutes a day of peace education with the Peace Game, your class shining together on the World Peace Map, and Christmas messages that travel with gifts to children in a war zone.

  1. Start with the Peace Game, five minutes a day. One short question a day about getting along, at home, at school and in the world. Show it on the board, read it aloud, talk about it and type the class's answer. Then see what happens next, and what the rest of the world chose.
  2. Your class on the map. Create a class code. Each child lights a light with it, and your class shines together as a constellation on the World Peace Map.
  3. Write the messages. Each child writes a few warm lines, signed with their first name and your school. Every message is printed on a card and travels with a gift.

What it costs. Nothing. Taking part is free for your school: the Peace Game, your class on the map and the messages. The gifts the messages travel with are paid for by families and companies, and a local company can sponsor your class's gifts.

Who we are. Peace 2000 is an international peace and humanitarian organisation, founded in Iceland in 1995. It runs the Santa Peaceflight, which flew Santa with gifts into besieged Sarajevo and, on Christmas Eve 1997, into Baghdad. This Christmas, the next Santa Peaceflight is planned to Kyiv.

Families who receive a gift can say thank you and write back on the platform.
